Good Burgers for a Great Cause
September 9-15 2019
What's Ottawa Burger Fest?
Great Food, Explore Ottawa, Do Good
Who doesn't love burgers? Embrace your inner foodie and enjoy the end of the summer with burgers crafted by Ottawa's premier restaurants. Experience a specially crafted burger at each of our partner restaurants, and explore our beautiful city at the same time.
We wanted to help people in need and enrich our community through something we could all enjoy. That's why a portion of all proceeds from Ottawa Burger Fest are going towards the Canadian Mental Health Association Ottawa Branch. Participating in Ottawa Burger Fest is super simple - just show up to our 11 partner restaurants between September 9 and 15! Just look for our signs at your table and at the front!

Where is the event?
The event has no location! Restaurants continue business out of their normal locations.
So, how does the event work?
Well a portion of what you pay for their Ottawa burger fest burger at their restaurant, will go directly to mental health initiatives.
Are you receiving the donations directly from the restaurants?
No, we do not touch any of the money. Restaurants that have agreed to participate would donate directly to mental health initiatives at the end of the week long event.
Can you tell us a bit about your organization?
We are not formally an organization, instead we are acting as an intermediary to try and generate donations towards mental health. We are a group of university students with a range of backgrounds (student athletes to full time service industry workers). This is purely a passion project for us where we saw an opportunity to create a fun event within the community that goes towards a cause that we support.
Do you have a foundation set up? (Mealshare is the example that comes to mind.)
As noted above we are just a group of students who are trying to drive donations to a cause that we support. The idea is similar to Mealshare, but as we are just getting started we will not be touching any donation money and are relying on the restaurants themselves to make donations.
Can you give us a sense of your expenses and budget?
Our budget is about $500, it is all coming out of our pockets.
